The Elementary is conducting its first Summer Band Blast for 5th and 6th grade band students June 23 – July 4. If parents are interested in having their child participate (students must have been in band this current school year), they can call the Elementary office at 539-8101 and ask for Cinda Pelfrey. Students will be learning marching skills, new music, ensemble playing skills and preparing to perform at the Community Park for Light Up the Sky. They will also be marching in the parade (not playing yet).

Are you Hungry? How does LaRosa’s, Subway or Olive Garden sound? Let the members of the Monroe Junior High and Senior High Band help you out. From February 1st to the 13th, the band members in grades 7-12 will be selling LaRosa’s and Subway Peeler cards. The cards cost $10 each, are good until February 2009 and are a great savings.

UPDATE: This event has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. Bandtastic is planned to take place again next year.

This rehearsal is cancelled due to the teacher in service meetings scheduled on that day.

 

The rehearsal will take place during the Sunday Hornet Day activities.

 

Regular after school rehearsals will begin on Thursday, August 23.

 The Monroe High School Band would like to invite former members of the marching band to join them in a performance during Pre Game of the October 5 Homecoming game. 

Come out and preview the Band's 07-08 show in the stadium.

On Tuesday, May 15 the Junior and Senior High Bands will perform their final concert for the year at 7 PM. The 7-12 band awards ceremony will follow.

Any student in grades 7 through 12 who has participated in marching, concert and/or jazz band will receive their awards at this time. Refreshments will be served around 8PM with the Senior “pass down” awards following the refreshments.

All Junior and Senior High Concert band members are to report at 6:30 to the band room. Concert uniform (khaki pants, polo shirt) is required.

The Summer Music Games in Cincinnati show is coming to Fairfield High School on Tuesday, June 19, 2007. If you have the time, take advantage of the opportunity to see some of the best marching bands in the world compete at this event.

The Band booster are planning to purchase a number of groups tickets for this event. If you would like tickets, we can purchase them at a reduced price of $12 per ticket. This is not an organized field trip. All parents are responsible for transportation and supervision of their children.
