Monroe Library Volunteer of the Year
The Monroe Lending Library is honoring Krista House, as its Volunteer of the Year. Thirteen year old Krista is in 7th grade at Monroe Junior High and has volunteered 214 hours of time to the library during the past 2 years. Phyllis Sells, President of the Library Board, says that Krista can always be counted on to be at the library, eager and willing to do anything asked of her from filing books to reading to little children.
Krista exemplifies the adage “ask a busy person if you want something done.” She is a Sunday School teacher and has taught in vacation Bible school at Our Lady of Sorrows Church for the past three years. She is alway available to help when her church feeds the hungry.
Krista is in the National Junior Honor Society with a 4.0 grade point average and is already planning on attending Ohio State University in a few years. She studies dance at the Academy of Dance Arts Studio where she performs modern dance, tap, ballet and other forms. Krista still has found time to play soccer for the past eight years, playing for Monroe City Soccer team.
Krista is the daughter of Anne House. She has a brother Tyler and sister, Erika.
