Ken Meibers Hired as Head Football Coach at Monroe

Photo and story by Steven UrsoKen Meibers was approved by the Monroe School Board on May 27th to take over the head coaching duties for the Monroe High School football program. Ken Meiber’s comes from Colerain High School where he was the offensive coordinator. Ken Meibers will also bring Joe Ward from Colerain to be the defensive coordinator for the Monroe High School football team next season.
Monroe’s athletic director, John Singleton said, “This was a slam dunk for the program.” Singleton was amazed by the references that he received about Meibers. He received references from college coaches and was told that Monroe just got the two best coaches in the GMC.
Ken Meibers said, “It’s an awesome exciting feeling getting things started again,” and that he main goal for the Monroe High School Football program is “To take the program to the next level. Continue to be the powerhouse and go to state and win.”
The Monroe High School football program has begun a new chapter, and this new coaching staff hopes to continue the pride for Monroe football in the years to come.
