How to: Post a story

You must be registered and logged in to post.

  • Click on Create content.
  • Click on Story.
  • In the Subject line, type in the title of your story.
  • Choose a Category. For example if you choose Elementary it will appear in both the Schools and Elementary sections of the site. You can choose more than one by using shift-click (or command-click for Mac). If you need a New Category, type it in the last box. You may want to add PTO as a category for instance if you selected Schools:Elementary. New categories will be added to the drop down boxes as they become more widely used.
  • If you do not see a menu bar with bold, italic, indents, etc., in the Body text box, click on enable rich-text. You can type or paste in your article. This will also enable you to add links and pictures to your story. If you want to paste html code for formatting, click on Input format and check the Full HTML. You can set rich text to be the default by going to My account::Edit::TinyMCE rich-text settings.
  • Click the Subscribe button to be notified by email of comments made to your post. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on My account::subscriptions.
  • If you have a file that goes along with the story (i.e. brochure, forms) you can add it under File attachments. Click on the Browse button to find the file on your computer and then click Attach.
  • Click on Submit to view the article. Once the page loads you will see an Edit tab at the top. You can make any changes by clicking on Edit. If you use the Preview button, be sure to click Submit before you leave the page. If you use the browser's back button or go to any other page before you hit Submit, you will lose your work.
  • You can edit your story at any time by clicking on its Title and then th Edit tab. An easy way to find your posts is to look under My account::Track. You can click on the title there.
