Unique Outdoor Authentic Bethlehem Village Nativity
Recreates the Live Experience Impeccable Detail
December 7 & 8, 5-8pm
Monroe First Church of God
100 East Avenue

Monroe First Church of God, Monroe OH reenacts the birth of Christ in the live presentation of “Through the Eyes of a Shepherd.” Visitors experience the true meaning of Christmas, set in the historically accurate Biblical town of Bethlehem, complete with centurions, villagers and live animals such as an ancient breed of sheep called Jacob Sheep which are found in the Old Testament story of Jacob.

The Monroe First Church of God in Monroe will again present their Christmas Nativity Event, “Through the Eyes of a Shepherd,” a live Nativity experience, recreated in every detail, to reflect the real feelings of the birth of Christ.

The church invites all to come experience the most historically accurate and inspiring Reenactment Nativity Event to ever come to the Tri-‐State area. Admission is free. The outdoor event takes place December 7th and 8th, from 5-‐8pm each evening, held at the Monroe First Church of God, 100 East Ave., Monroe, OH 45050.

A tireless, persistent effort to gather details on the Biblical town of Bethlehem over two thousand years ago, has lead to a large group of dedicated volunteers, painstakingly working to recreate that very setting in this unique, inspiring experience.

“We feel that many times, Christians today tend to put the Christmas story on the same shelf as Santa Claus,” said Terry Ball, Pastor of Monroe First Church of God. “Our church and large group of dedicated volunteers have worked very hard to bring the realism of the birth of Christ to life. It will be a meaningful holiday event for everyone who attends.”

Visitors enter a historically accurate village with authentically dressed villagers of all ages, complete with historically accurate live animals. There is a true sense of the Roman oppression as centurions roam the area. And, of course, excellently-‐cast actors depicting the birth of Baby Jesus. Visitors will view the live Nativity through the eyes of a Shepherd in an amphitheather built around the nativity scene.

“The birth of Christ is too often referred to as a myth or legend,” continued Ball. “Everyone is invited to
come see why the true Christmas story is a very important moment in history.”
