Football Jamboree a Success for Both the Hornets and the MACF

The August 21 Hornet scrimmage against West Carrollton proved to be a winning combination for both the Monroe Area Community Foundation and the Hornet football team, who defeated the Pirates by a 48-0 score.  In coordination with Dave Bauer and the athletic department, all proceeds after expenses were donated to the MACF, which is a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 charitable organization.  John Singleton and Gina Miltenberger, the foundation's executive director and development chairperson, planned the event and worked at the game, along with foundation members Glen and Jane Majors; Jamie Pierce; Joyce and Elbert Tannreuther; and Ron and JoAnn Tubbs.

Purchasing the winning raffle ticket for the football signed by coaches and players was Tammy Lewis, while Dawn Timming won the photography package provided by Len Kaltman, Photography (MonroePortraits.com).

The approximately $1750 in net gate receipts and raffles will be used to support the foundation's mission of awarding grants and scholarships in order to enhance the welfare of individuals and groups in the Monroe area.  It does this through invested donations, which it then uses to provide charitable and civic support. To learn more about making a contribution or becoming a member of the Monroe Area Community Foundation, visit its website at www.monroefoundation.com.  You can also call John Singleton at  513/478-8112 or Gloria Miltenberger at 513/633-7672.
