Large Item Pickup

Spring clean-up and large item pick-up will be held on Saturday, June 13. The following lists acceptable items and how to contain them (all dimensions are maximum):

Carpet: Cut to 4 foot lengths and tied in 2 foot rolls.

Wood: Bundled in 4 foot lengths and 2 foot in diameter and tied. Please hammer all nails.

Fencing: Bundled in 4 foot lengths and 2 foot rolls.

Metal Poles: Cut to 4 foot lengths and tied together.

Construction Debris: In cans or bags of no more than 60 lbs. Do not place in boxes.

Appliances: Appliances containing chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) i.e. refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners or ice makers are not collectible until CFC removal is complete. Please call Rumpke at 742-2900 or visit to download the necessary refrigerant recovery forms. Once CFC removal is certified, please place the item at the curb for collection with a CFC removal sticker and the completed Recovery Statement (the recovery statement that you received from Rumpke).

Miscellaneous Small Items: Place small household items in cans or bags. Drain all fluids from items that contain gasoline or oil.

The following items will NOT be picked up: car batteries, household chemicals, car and truck tires, yard waste (grass leaves, brush), rocks, dirt, concrete, regular trash.

Please place your items at the curb the evening of Friday, June 12th.



Televisions and Computers: includes hard drives, monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners, desktop copiers, fax machines, power cables, pagers, cell phones, digital equipment, software, compact discs, VCRs. 1st & 3rd Saturdays in June and August. 2nd & 3rd Saturdays July and September from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Butler County Engineer's Office, 1921 Fairgrove Ave., Hamilton.

Freon Appliances: includes refrigerators, freezers, air condtioners, dehumidifiers. Unwanted Appliances will remove from the curb or driveway at no charge from April to September. Call 1-888-886-9268 to schedule a pick-up.

Household Hazardous Waste:  includes paint, automotive fluids, pesticides, pool chemicals, unwanted prescription medications, varnishes, lacquers, long flourescent tubes and adhesives. Every Thursday from June 4 to September 24 from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. 10163 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd., West Chester area.

Compact Flourescent Lightbulbs: Take bulbs to any Home Depot store for processing (6562 Winford Dr. in Fairfield Twp., or 7749 Dudley Dr. in West Chester), or to IKEA at 9500 IKEA Way in West Chester.

Household Batteries: Drop off at Home Depot, Lane Public Libraries, Butler County Government Services Building, Butler County Administrative Building, IKEA.
