Water Interruption April 11

Updated 4/11 to include Ohio Avenue

On Wednesday, April 11, 2007 the water main located at Britton Lane and Macready Avenue will be shut down for repairs. This will take approximately 8 hours (8:00 am to 4:00 pm). There will be no water available to the following residences during this time: From 110 Macready Avenue to 490 Macready Avenue. From 30 Britton Lane to 173 Britton Lane. All of Ohio Avenue.

After the water has been restored, there will be a boil water advisory in effect for a minimum of 48 hours. This is strictly a precautionary measure that is required by the Ohio EPA to confirm that there are no contaminants in the water. A sample will be taken after the water has been restored. When the sample results provide negative for any contaminant, we will notify you by door hangers that the boil water advisory has been lifted.

Under a boil advisory, it is advisable to bring the water you will use for drinking, cooking and all personal hygiene (such as brushing your teeth) to a rolling boil for three minutes. You may find additional information about the boil advisory at our website at www.monroeohio.org/pages/boilinstructions.asp .

When the water has been restored, you may experience "red" water and you should not do laundry to avoid staining your clothes. The water will clear up. If you have red water, you may want to run your water for a few minutes to flush the red water from your system. If you have any questions, you may call us at 539-7374. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
