      Beauty and the Beast Photo Gallery

      Monroe Jr/Sr High School will present Disney's Beauty and the Beast this weekend. The show is spectacular and a great way to spend an evening (or afternoon) to see the talent we have in our schools! 

      Shows are Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 and Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2:30. Tickets are $8.00 and can be purchased at the door. All seats are reserved, so allow a little extra time to purchase tickets.

        Monroe Follies Present "Beauty and the Beast" April 17, 18, 19

        The whole family will enjoy Disney's enchanted telling of the timeless classic Beauty and the Beast. Performances will be Friday night at 7:00, Saturday at 2:30 and 7:00, and Sunday at 2:30. 

        Michael Luciano will be playing the Beast alongside Allie Cassidy as Belle. Other cast members include Ashley Ledford as Babette, Saxon Hall as Cosgworth, Jake Wilson as Lumiere, Corie Minor as Mrs. Potts, and Michael Pretorius as Gaston. All seats are reserved. Tickets are $8.00 and are available starting March 26th. Call 360-0681 to reserve tickets. Tickets will also be available at the door.

         

        Butler Tech/Monroe Students Win Awards at Business Competition

        Monroe students competing in the Business Professionals of America earned prestigious awards at the regional competition. The Network Design Team (juniors Beth Smalley and Jake Turner) took 3rd place with their Business Plan Solution. They presented a Power Point I.T. Business Plan Solution to a fictitious company that requested outside bids in order to determine which team had the best, most efficient and economical plan to award.

        Jake Turner also received 7th place in Cisco Network Administration, for demonstrating his knowledge in the areas of the fundamental network management tasks in a CISCO® environment.

        Late Arrival for High School March 16-20

        All Sophomores will be taking the Ohio Graduation Tests (5 parts) for the first time in March The passage of these tests is a requirement for a high school diploma in the State of Ohio. Read more »

        Mattress Sale to Benefit Baseball Team

        The Monroe Baseball Team will be conducting their 2nd annual mattress fundraiser on March 7th in the Monroe Junior High School Gym; starting at 10am and ending at 5pm. All sizes are available; twin through king and are brand new with a factory warranty. The mattresses are name brands(Simmons and Southerland) and sell at 30%-60% off retail. This is a one day sale and all profits go directly to support the team.

        RESCHEDULED! Spaghetti Dinner and Band Concert

        Tuesday, March 3, 2009 is the Monroe Local School Band Annual Fund Raiser and will be held in the Monroe Local Schools high school cafeteria. During the dinner, all the school band will hold a concert in the auditorium. The concert itself is free.

        The dinner is sponsored by the Monroe Band Boosters and the proceeds go to the boosters to support each child’s band activities. The dinner will begin at 5:00 PM and serving will end at 7:00 PM. The meal consists of pasta, sauce & breadsticks from Olive Garden, with salad, drink and dessert. Prices are as follows: $7.00 for grades 7 and up. $6.00 for grades 6 and younger and Senior citizens, children under 2 years of age eat FREE.

        Caught You Looking Good!

        Winners of Monroe High School’s “Caught You Looking Good” Award for December. The award is given to students for outstanding effort and/or achievement during the month. Left to Right: Vice Principal Robert Millisor, Tyler Sexton, Jessica Leece, Amy Platt, Taylor McGuire. 

        High School Music Students Excel in District Solo & Ensemble

        On Saturday, January 24, three Monroe students earned top scores at the OMEA District 13 Solo & Ensemble festival. Nick Dian and Ashley Ledford earned scores of Superior and Amy Platt earned a score of Excellent. Congratulations to these three students for representing Monroe in such a positive manner!

        Monroe Students Selected for Honor Band

        On Saturday, December 6, two Monroe band students earned spots in the 2009 OMEA District 13 Honor Band. 

        Percussion student Nick Dian will be a member of the High School Wind Symphony which will perform 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 1st at Springboro High School. Trumpet player Kinser Sebastian will be a member of the 8th grade Honor Band and perform at 2:00 p.m. at Middletown High School on Sunday, Feb. 1st. Read more »
