Local Carpenters Donate to Disabled American Veterans

In early October, Local 2 of the Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters (IKORCC) donated $1,500 to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), a national veterans advocacy and assistance group with the core mission of providing veterans with a full range of benefits to lead high-quality lives.

Donations for DAV were collected at Local 2’s annual picnic, which was organized by the Local 2 Member Action Committee (MAC). Funds were raised by general donations and activities at the picnic, including Local 2 member participation in a dunk tank. Read more »

Veteran's Day Tribute

The fourth grade classes under the direction of Ms. Susan Knicely and Mr. Paul Mann presented their annual Veteran's Day Ceremony on November 10th and 11th. This program is designed both to honor our Veteran Guests and educate students about Veteran's Day. Each class at Monroe Elementary is now collecting donations for a care package which will be sent to our servicemen and women currently serving overseas.

Flags are Flying at Veterans Memorial

Right: Bob Hale, whose tireless efforts have made the Veterans Memorial a reality,  salutes the newly raised American flag.

As of February 7, the flags are flying at the new Veterans Memorial Park at the corner of Rt. 63 and Main St.

Even on such a cold day, a good sized crowd was on hand to watch as Bob Hale raised the American flag to take its place among the flags representing each of the armed services.
