Your spine is made up of 24 bones called vertebrae that stack up one on top of the other to form a straight line when viewed from front to back. An abnormality called Scoliosis exists when the spine curves or twists excessively. In most cases of scoliosis, the cause is unknown. All of the discs, ligaments, tendons and muscles appear to be normal.
