Monroe Area CIC Awards Business Grants

The Monroe Area Community Improvement Corporation (CIC)recently awarded more than $30,000 in grant funds to local businesses through its Business Exterior Improvement Matching Grant and Downtown Development Grant Programs.
The CIC’s Board of Trustees awarded five Business Exterior Matching Grants for a total of $10,820. Because this program requires at least 50% of the project cost to come from the company, the $10,820 in grant funds is leveraging an additional $10,820 in private contributions.
Award recipients include Richter Landscaping ($360 for a new ground sign), Monroe Collision Center ($1,540 for landscaping improvements), Fixture Dimensions Incorporated ($2,050 for a new sign), Floorcraft Floor Coverings ($3,170 for a new sign), and Stratson Group/Greentree Plaza ($3,700 for landscaping improvements). Organizational or Club Grants Available From the Monroe Area Community Foundation

09/15/2009 4:18 pm

In response to a wide variety of community needs, the Monroe Area Community Foundation bestows quarterly grants to organizations or clubs in the Monroe area in order  to maintain or advance its quality of life.  Grants are only awarded  to groups with  501 (c) 3 tax exempt status. They are not made to individuals for personal use.  The size and number of grants conferred per quarter are directly related to the amount of money available each year from investments and from the restrictions donors have placed on certain funds.

The MACF is now accepting  third quarter grant requests, which are due by September 15, 2009.  The fourth quarter deadline is December 15, 2009.  Questions concerning  procedure or eligibility can be answered by Gloria Miltenberger at 513-633-7672.  Submissions should be made to the Monroe Area Community Foundation, Distribution Committee, P.O. Box 56, Monroe, Ohio 45050.  For additional information about the MACF, go to its website at
