Real Men (and Women) Wear Pink

Monroe's firefighters will be sporting pink t-shirts during the month of October for breast cancer awareness.
Breast cancer strikes both men and women, with women having a 1 in 8 chance of developing the cancer at some point over their lifetime.
The department will be selling bracelets and running a "fill the boot" campaign at home football games on October 2nd and 9th, and at the Trader's World and Treasure Isle flea markets. Also, look for donation cans at area businesses.
The firefighters union is also accepting donations by mail. Please send a check to:

Mammography Van to Visit Monroe

It is well known that early detection of breast cancer dramatically improves survival rates. Take advantage of a convenient way to take care of yourself and schedule an appointment to have your mammogram at Kroger in Monroe, located at 3303 Heritage Green Dr., on March 9 on The Jewish Hospital Mobile Mammography Van.
