Otterbein welcomes public to its 45th annual fish fry

Otterbein Lebanon Senior Lifestyle Community is hosting its 45th annual fish fry. The public is invited to the festivities from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 27, for food, music, games, and much more. This year’s fish fry has a tie-dye theme, so everyone is encouraged to wear their most colorful tie dye. The cost for a meal is $9 for adults and $5 for children and this includes all-you-can-eat fish, fried shrimp, cole slaw, a slice of pie and a beverage. Attendees will enjoy music from River City Rewind and the Patriot Brass Ensemble. NFL legend and former Bengals player Icky Woods will be in attendance for memorabilia and autograph signing. KidZone is back, with a petting zoo, pony rides, magic shows, carnival games and much more! All of these activities are completely free for the community to enjoy. (click on image for full flyer). Ickey and Chandra Woods to give presentation at Otterbein Lebanon

Ickey and Chandra Woods will give a wellness presentation regarding asthma awareness and organ donation at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 14, in the Phillippi Room at Otterbein Lebanon Senior Lifestyle Community.

On Aug. 14, 2010, their son, Jovante Woods, died suddenly from a severe asthma attack at the young age of 16. Ickey and Chandra were inspired to educate and help prevent others from experiencing the loss of a loved one. So to honor their son, they created the Jovante Woods Foundation.

Dance in the moonlight to the Pete Wagner Band

Ever dream about dancing in the moonlight? Take a trip down memory lane in a recreation of Moonlite Gardens’ ambiance and mood at Otterbein Lebanon Senior Lifestyle Community, featuring twinkling lights, fabulous music by the Pete Wagner Band and dancing from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, in the multi-purpose room in the campus center. Otterbein residents are free and guests are $5 each at the door. No reservations are required, but organizers ask party-goers to sign the guest book.

Adult Day Services by Otterbein Flourishes in New Location

Adult Day Services by Otterbein has a new location and expanded services. The move to a much larger and more fully functional location at 102 King St. on the campus of the Lebanon Retirement Living Community became a reality in December 2010.

Janet Delzell’s husband, Clifford, has Alzheimer’s. She contacted Adult Day Services at Otterbein when he could no longer be at home alone while she was at work.

Her experience with Adult Day Services at Otterbein has been positive in all regards, she said, adding, “I encourage all who have the need for supervision for their loved one to try it. My husband loves the attention, the routine and the staff. He thinks he is at work while at Adult Day, but that’s OK. The staff plays along to make him feel useful and validated.” Read more »

"Open House" April 30 at Otterbein Lebanon Campus to Highlight New Services

LEBANON, Ohio - April 12, 2010 - The Otterbein Lebanon Retirement Living Community will host an open house on Tuesday, April 30, for residents, partners and the general public. The open house will open at 2 p.m. and remain open until at least 5 p.m., and will be staged in the Otterbein Campus Center's multi-purpose room.

The open house will showcase a wide array of Otterbein's community services; highlight the many clubs and services capabilities available through Otterbein Lebanon; present a glimpse of a number of development projects for the Otterbein Lebanon campus (including a new life enrichment center and the Warren County Arts and Cultural Center); and present a detailed look at Home Health by Otterbein, a recent acquisition already in expansion mode, designed to provide access to extensive health care in independent living residences (on campus at Otterbein, and throughout a number of southwestern Ohio counties).
