In 1994 the New England Journal of Medicine reported that nearly 31 million Americans complain of low back pain at any given time. Other studies show that one half of the entire American workforce admits to having back pain symptoms each year. In addition, 33% of Americans over the age of 18 have had a back pain episode severe enough for them to seek professional help over the past five years. According to the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, the costs to our society for these low back pain complaints is estimated to be around 50 billion dollars annually. Read more »

Effective Treatment for Chronic Low Back Pain and Whiplash

Believe it or not some people still hold on to unsupported beliefs that chiropractic treatment is unscientific. In view of the fact that thousands of studies exist showing the efficacy of chiropractic treatment, let us explore some of the current science.

In a recent article published in the prestigious medical journal Spine, researchers conducted a randomized controlled study of 115 patients with chronic spinal pain. The average duration of pain for people in the spinal manipulation control group was 8.3 years. In favor of chiropractic, the researchers found that when compared to those taking medicine, the spinal manipulation group had 5 times more effective results. The consistency of the results provides evidence that in patients with chronic pain, manipulation results in greater short-term improvement than medication. Read more »

Memorial Day Weekend Weather

The severe weather is over for now. We will now see temperatures warm into the low 90's over your Memorial Day weekend with little chances of rainfall. Major Severe Weather Outbreak Today!

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman has put the area under a moderate risk of Severe Weather today. The High Risk is not to far away in Indiana. The stage is being set for a major severe weather outbreak across the south central Indiana and southwest Ohio. Late this morning and afternoon we will see the development of single cellular storms across eastern Illinois, western Kentucky, and western Indiana. These storms will become more widespread throughout the afternoon into the evening hours and become more of line of storms by this evening and overnight. Read more »
